Boyce is the original lead vocalist for the Crossmen, singing lead since its beginning. From an early age, it was easy to see that he had musical talent and love for southern gospel music. He began performing at the age of six at church and various community gatherings. Boyce sang in both elementary school and high school chorus and performed in All-State Choir as well. He also appeared in several productions of high school musicals and played tuba in his high school band. He sang with several local groups including The Travelers Quartet, a family group. Boyce achieved both Bachelor's and Master's Degrees of Music from Western Kentucky University. While at WKU he participated in both instrumental and vocal groups, performing regularly on campus and on tour. Boyce was voted Favorite Lead Vocalist by the Kentucky Gospel Music Association in 1999 and 2000, and Favorite Male Vocalist in 2000. He now lives in Morgantown, KY with his wife, Kimberly, and their daughter, Amanda. They are members of Aberdeen Baptist Church.
